Frequently asked questions

Why do I need mortgage advice?

Getting a mortgage is likely to be one of the biggest financial decisions you'll ever make, and it's important you make a choice that suits your circumstances. A mortgage adviser can search the market on your behalf and recommend the right deal for you.

How do I apply for a mortgage?

The process involves providing lots of information to lenders (and filling out a whole lot of forms). Being well prepared is key and can make the process move smoothly. For more guidance, check out our comprehensive guide.

How do I get a mortgage if I'm self-employed?

Being self-employed doesn't mean you can't get a mortgage. Ensuring your books are all up-to-date and keeping a clear record of your finances can help strengthen your position as a borrower. In this case, we'd recommend speaking with a mortgage adviser to find out what you need to do.

What is remortgaging?

Remortgaging is the process of taking out a new loan to cover your previous mortgage. Remortgaging can come with plenty of benefits, from releasing equity in your home to the potential to save money on your monthly repayments. Check out our remortgaging guide for more information.

What is protection?

Protection secures your family and home against the worst-case scenario. It's also important to note that your needs are likely to change throughout your life. Perhaps you're moving jobs, starting a family, or even downsizing. These are all things you need to consider when looking at protection.

Do I need to have a Will in place to get a mortgage?

No, having a Will in place is not a requirement for getting approved for a mortgage.

However, having a Will is generally recommended for everyone regardless of their mortgage situation. It ensures your wishes for your estate are carried out after you pass away, which can avoid complications for your loved ones during an already difficult time.

My mortgage advisor is absolutely lovely! Cherry who I have met in person and had meetings with and Kate Gregory who I've had had email correspondence with have both been brilliant. They've been very kind and understanding supporting me through being a first time buyer with lots of questions and queries. I have received excellent customer service and am kept up to date on and during all developments by my preferred method quickly and with empathy and compassion during the stressful home buying process. They have both looked at alternatives for me when I raised issues with other parties and have generally been fantastic. I absolutely would recommend to others.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Vimal for the fantastic service he has provided throughout our mortgage journey. we had very little knowledge of mortgages and the overall process. From the very beginning, Vimal made everything incredibly easy to understand and guided us through each step with patience and professionalism. He took the time to explain everything clearly, helping us feel comfortable, informed, and confident in the decisions we were making. Vimal went above and beyond to find the best options for us and was always available to answer questions, no matter how small. His knowledge and expertise made what could have been a stressful experience feel straightforward and manageable. Not only has Vimal been outstanding professionally, but he has also been a genuinely wonderful person to work with. His kindness, patience, and approachable nature immediately put us at ease, and it is clear that he truly cares about the clients he looks after. We honestly cannot fault the service we have received. The entire process has been smooth, well-managed, and reassuring from start to finish. We would highly recommend Vimal to anyone looking for mortgage advice and support.
