It’s a fact of life that things don’t always go to plan, and if you’ve found yourself experiencing money worries, you're not alone.

The cost of living crisis is making things harder for many households at the moment, and while many people like to keep their finances private - including their challenges with managing money - there’s no shame or embarrassment in reaching out for help.

Whatever it is you’re facing, we’re here to support you through this period.

1. Reach out

Reaching out for help is the first hurdle, and is in itself a major achievement. Once you’ve done this, everything else often feels a little easier. When you speak to us, you can rest assured that every conversation we have with you is in complete confidence.

2. Understanding your individual circumstances

We understand that your financial situation is unique to you, which is why we’ll listen to your circumstances non-judgementally, signposting you to resources that may be appropriate. For instance, you may:

  • Be unable to make the repayments on your mortgage or pay your household bills

  • Have debt building up in several places and feel overwhelmed

  • Experience something unexpected which has changed your financial situation

  • Want a few tips on how to maintain good financial health

Whatever your experiences may be, we’ll take the time to listen, pointing you in the right direction to get the support you need.

3. Resources

Don’t forget that there are other resources you can go to for free advice:

  • National Debtline - offers free telephone and digital advice, with access to experts in debt advice for those requiring help and support with debt management

  • Citizens Advice - Citizens Advice offers confidential, independent advice and a network of national charities, helping you to tackle whatever issue you may be facing

  • MoneyHelper - helps you to make clearer choices about money management and take control of your spending
