Land and Buildings Transaction Tax

Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) is Scotland's version of UK's Stamp Duty Tax.

The Scottish government announced that a temporary rise in the stamp duty threshold from £145,000 to £250,000 will take immediate effect from the 15th July 2020, running until 31st March 2021.

This means purchases under £250,000 will attract no LBTT. More details of this announcement are here.
