Accolade for MAB Scotland at 2018 Chamber Business Awards
Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) in Scotland, part of the UK’s leading mortgage network, has been crowned one of the winners in the Scotland heats of the Chamber Business Awards 2018. Now in their 15th year, the awards are a highlight of the business calendar, recognising the key role that local businesses play in driving the UK economy.
The award, sponsored by Facebook, was open to organisations employing up to 75 full-time members of staff. They looked specifically for a company that has achieved consistent growth backed by a strong financial performance while demonstrating a clear understanding of the markets that it operates in.
The judges looked particularly at:
- What differentiates us from our their competitors
- Strong managerial and financial performance
- Innovation
- Potential for growth
- Evidence of the business's commitment to staff
Selected by regional judging panels, from hundreds of entries, we will now go through to the National Finals.
Francis Martin, President of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said:
“Businesses are the engines of the UK economy – creating opportunities and prosperity in our towns, cities and counties. Even in these turbulent times, they continue to show their adaptability, resilience and strength.
“Every year our judges are impressed by the calibre of entries, and this year was no different. All our finalists should be proud to reach this stage given the stiff competition among our diverse and enterprising pool of applicants.
“The Chamber Business Awards are the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate our business communities’ achievements, to take stock of the great performances of UK businesses over the past year, and to encourage and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”
Dylan Kelly, Head of Marketing & Communications at MAB in Scotland, commented: "Small business is a key contributer to the Scottish economy and we are absolutely delighted to win this, given the number of amazing small business in the capital.
"We recently received a Princess Royal Training Award, so this is the second big accolade for us in a couple of months. These awards are a clear indication of how the company is performing and how we continue to show innovation and a client-focussed approach".
As Small Business of the Year winner, we will now go forward to represent Scotland in the national finals, which take place in London in November.
